As We Near The End Of 2016

As we near the end of 2016 and approach the doorsteps of 2017, I cannot help but reminisce and count all the blessings that this year has brought to our Parish Family and to myself.  2016 has been a very eventful and meaningful year: our Parish has grown to 1000 registered families; our Parish fund raising events – the Annual Golf Tournament and our “Building a Vision” Gala Dinner – have grown and doubled what was raised last year.  With so many dedicated people, with their hard work, and with their generosity, we are slowly, yet steadily, inching towards the goal of having our own Parish Church in the not so distant future.  Although some would say it’s an ambitious goal, I believe that commencing the building of our Parish Church in 2018-2019 is quite an attainable dream.

living-stones-heartOne of the lessons I have learned is that although we need the funds to build the Church, it isn’t the money that builds a Church.  What do I mean?  Before we build the Church, we need to become the Church, not made with stones, but made of the living stones.  We are the Church made of living stones!  When we gathered to celebrate the Jingle Mingle in the spirit of family two weeks ago, I felt God’s love and peace.  There is no doubt that God dwells in our Parish community and that we are a Church!  I think we are ready to build our Church!

While we still have a lot of work ahead of us, I have no doubts that we will build a beautiful Church for God, for our community and for generations to come!  I feel truly blessed to be able to be a part of a generous, loving, and wonderful community that I can call my friends and my family.  I would like to thank each and every one of you for being a part of my life, a blessing and a joy.  I would like to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year filled with Love, Joy and Peace.  I pray that 2017 will bring you an abundance of God’s blessings, prosperity and health!

Fr. Peter
